Important Safety Reminder: Stranger Danger Awareness
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I am writing to make you aware of a safety concern that was recently brought to our attention.
Local police have informed us that there have been reports of strangers in the community attempting to approach students who are standing on the street. While no further details can be shared at this time, we want to take this opportunity to remind all families and students about the importance of Stranger Danger.
Students should never talk to strangers on the street. If anyone attempts to speak to a student from a vehicle, they are still considered a stranger. This type of behavior is inappropriate and dangerous.
Please remind your child:
- Do not engage in conversation with strangers.
- Do not answer questions, including requests for directions or help.
- Do not approach or enter a vehicle for any reason.
- Immediately inform a trusted adult if any individual attempts to speak to them from a car or makes them feel uncomfortable.
We encourage families to have ongoing conversations with their children about personal safety and to report any suspicious activity to school staff or local authorities right away.
The safety of our students is our highest priority. Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping our children safe.
Sincerely,
Dr. Blondean Y. Davis
