Transportation Update: Bus Service Continues, No E-Learning Days

Good Morning District 162 and Southland Family,

As you know, I previously reached out regarding a potential strike by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters that could have impacted the availability of bus drivers servicing our transportation provider, First Student.

I am pleased to share that the Teamsters Union and First Student have successfully reached an agreement. As a result, bus service will continue without interruption, and our students will be transported as scheduled.

With this positive development, we will not need to implement e-learning days on April 1 and April 2. All schools will proceed with their normal in-person schedules leading into Spring Break, which begins on April 3 (Good Friday).
